Thornburgh Resort has been on the minds of many people in Central Oregon. The resort, which is resides near Eagle Crest on the side of Cline Buttes, has been quite controversial. If you mountain bike or hike around the Cline Buttes Trail System, you’ll notice that they have already broken ground on this project. A number of activist groups are still strongly opposing the resort and hope to shut it down. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of information out there that can be found about the resort but here is what we know about their plans so far:
- 1,425 dwelling units
- Over 900 homesites
- 425 overnight units
- 50 room hotel
- Three 18-hole golf courses
- 2 clubhouses will serve these courses
- 20-acre water ski lake
- 85 acres of water features (ponds, streams, etc.)
- Mall area with community center, shopping and dining
